The house consists of two separate residential units with a shared (integrated) garage. It was built on a slab foundation using solid construction materials, mainly reinforced concrete and masonry. The basement was entirely constructed using reinforced concrete and comprises technical, storage, and living spaces. The walls of the upper floors are either made of reinforced concrete or masonry. All concrete walls were prefabricated (hollow-core walls) and, apart from the structural calculation, were not part of our project requirements. The ceilings are precast concrete filigree slabs.
The stairs are separated from the rest of the structure for sound insulation purposes, but they were cast on-site rather than prefabricated. The balconies are thermally isolated from the ceiling slabs in order to increase the energy efficiency of the building. The roof is a classic wooden roof with a shed dormer on one side of the house, and purlins made of glued laminated timber.
